Ensures that proper temperature levels for product are maintained.Accurately completes maintains and monitor daily log sheet, sales and labor and other required paperwork and logs.Processes administrative paperwork and maintains accurate department records. Adheres to product temperature and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques. Performs receiving duties including breaking downloads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product.Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, handheld electronic ordering devices, scissors, knives, and safety cutters. Implements correct product preparation techniques.Supervises the processing of all reclamation as well as maintains orderly and in stock conditions in back room, the Beer and Wine Department and displays in and around the store.Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness and maintains inventory levels according to division directives.Assists with physical inventory taken 2-3 times a year.Responsible for ensuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced.Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook.Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements.Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed and that shelves are clean and properly maintained.Assists with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.Ensures cleanliness of work area and department. Builds beer and wine displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product.Develops and organizes unique customer tasting and sampling events by making the connection between beverages and cheese, meat, seafood, appetizers, entrees, and desserts.Receives and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed. Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately.Establishing and developing customer relations by educating them on wine, beer, and spirits (If applicable). Enhancing the customers shopping experience by recommending wines, beers, spirits (If applicable) and food and beverage pairing.Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements and one-on-one customer interaction.Assists customers by making product suggestions and special orders.Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service.Working knowledge of the department functions and maintains adequate amount of inventory. Provides a superior quality product that exceeds the customers’ expectations. Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all areas of the job.
